Lets get started - A Game of Thrones

After binge watching 5 episodes of House of Dragons on Amazon Prime, which I highly recommend, on a Sunday extremely hungover. I had a thought, "Should I rewatch the original Game of Throne, based on the books?".

From reading this post you can probably guess I didn't do this. Instead I decided to buy not just one book but the entire series as written by George R.R Martin (although unlike the show he hasn't yet decided the ending). The book series is actually called "A Song of Ice and Fire", currently split over six books with the first being called "A Game of Thrones".

At the time of writing I have only made it a to page 200 out of some 800 pages, but initial impressions is the book is better than the TV series going in-depth into the characters thoughts and feels, as well as, the background law including references to the Dance of Dragons, which House of Dragons is based on.

I will write an update on what I think of the first book upon completion, but as it stands I do recommend it.
